Stay optimistic and welcome our new staff member, Amy Grimm

Libby Utter April 3, 2020

Dear Gilda’s Club community,

My original remarks, written in early March, revolved around my optimistic view of the approaching Spring.  When we delayed the release of the GildaGram and calendar, I knew that I needed to adjust this article in light of COVID-19, but I want to assure you that we at Gilda’s Club Minnesota remain optimistic.

Over the past several weeks, we have successfully transitioned our five-part program of support to a virtual program.  We did not miss one day of programming.  Our dedicated staff, facilitators and volunteer instructors did not waver in their commitment to ensuring that our members could still access the support that they need…now more than ever.  Our support groups are up and running, including monthly groups.  IMPROV for Life didn’t miss a week.  We brought virtual yoga online after the first week.  Our April calendar is full of a variety of support offerings for you.  Virtual attendance by members is strong and growing.

In the midst of all this, we welcomed our new Database and Operations Manager, Amy Grimm.  Amy has embraced the unique challenge of being onboarded virtually.  On her first day, I dropped a laptop off at her front door and she dove right in.  She will be handling our technology needs, managing our database and taking care of clubhouse operations.  We are thrilled to have her on staff and we look forward to working with her in person soon.

You, our members, have also been incredible.  Not only have you embraced the virtual program delivery, you have been so supportive of the staff, facilitators and volunteer instructors.  Thank you for sending your comments our way.  They lift our spirits and guide our actions.  We are here for you.

Be safe and well until we meet again in the clubhouse,

Libby
