Thank you for this year, and read our Comic Book!

Libby Utter December 16, 2019

As 2019 draws to a close, we at Gilda’s Club Twin Cities want to express our gratitude to everyone who makes our community so special.  To the members who come to us for emotional and social support, the volunteers who selflessly give of their time and our donors who fund our five-part program so that it can be provided free of charge to those currently impacted by cancer – our sincere thanks.

I would also like to thank the Swann family – Monte, Isadora, and Arlo – for sharing their story in our year-end appeal. It shows how important social and emotional support is when cancer enters your life. The Swann’s story also illustrates how Gilda’s Club helps its members live life to its fullest, without being defined by cancer.

Since our year-end appeal mailed, we have heard from so many people about the unique comic book story.

“WOW … what a creative and well-executed campaign. The highlighted story of Super Isadora is captivating and so REAL … I love how she says “At Gilda’s Club, I can joke with others about treatment without having to always explain it.”

“You truly captured her essence as a teen going through cancer – and the supportive programs for the ENTIRE family offered by Gilda’s Club Twin Cities.”

“I absolutely love the “Don’t Try This Alone” mailing I just got in the mail. I’m keeping this as a sample of great storytelling in a new way.”

“Love the photos…and the fact that the superhero/comic book aspect comes through in a wonderfully warm and positive way.”

As Monte Swann stated, “the life-changing services at Gilda’s Club are priceless…yet we have not been asked to pay for a single thing.”  This is made possible by our generous donors who know what a tremendous impact their gifts have on the lives of those impacted by cancer in the community – their families, friends, neighbors.  We are grateful for your trust in us and your investment in Gilda’s Club Twin Cities.

During this season of giving, we ask you to give generously to Gilda’s Club.  The need for our evidence-based social and emotional support continues to grow, and we need your help to meet this need.  Your gift really does make a difference.

Thank you from all of us at Gilda’s Club Twin Cities – wishing you a happy holiday season.

Kind regards,

Libby
