Youth Grief Services is a community service of Fairview which provides a safe and nurturing place where you and your children can turn for help after a loved one dies.
Because we understand that grieving youth often feel alone and different from their peers, Youth Grief Services assists in the healing process by offering a network of services that supports, educates and connects grieving families. Participation in our programs help create a sense of belonging and normalcy for grieving children and their parents.
As a community service of Fairview, all our services are offered free of charge. Our work reflects Fairview’s mission to improve the health of the communities we serve.
Our goal is to ensure that the needs of grieving youth are recognized, understood and met—both within their family and within their community.
Volunteer facilitators, with their commitment and passion, help make this program possible. They receive extensive training in the use of our grief curriculum and in how to create a caring and supportive environment for kids.
Our curriculum uses age-appropriate activities to help youth learn about death and grief through experiential learning techniques such as art, games, discussion and play.
