What We Do
“I went to the Gilda’s Club when my Mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I had never been in a support group or therapy before. I walked in the red door and was hooked after the first meeting.”
— Amy, Eden Prairie
Through the signature red door of the Gilda’s Club Twin Cities clubhouse, you’ll find a welcoming, home-like environment that offers an evidence-based professionally led program of support designed to meet the social, emotional and psychological needs of anyone dealing with cancer: men, women, teens and children. We exist to create understanding communities and healing environments.
When the red door of Gilda’s Club Twin Cities opened in 2014, the 7-county metro community, as well as those who live in outstate Minnesota, received access to this valuable program.
How is Gilda’s Club Twin Cities different from other resources in the Twin Cities?
Consistency and availability. While we are fortunate to have various types of cancer support throughout the Twin Cities, there is no place that is available 6 days a week—at no cost.
Philosophy. The Gilda’s Club philosophy—that no one should face cancer alone—is central to our program and infuses the environment of our clubhouse. You feel it as soon as you walk through our signature red door.
Licensed support, member-driven. The Gilda’s Club program is facilitated by licensed mental health professionals who understand the day-to-day emotional stress of facing a cancer diagnosis, undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, and navigating the multitude of cancer-related challenges. Gilda’s Club members receive personal care from professional staff and valuable, heartfelt knowledge from other club members.
