Noogie-what?

It’s name, a humorous reference to a bit of Gilda Radner’s comedic action, is just silly enough to make perfect sense to children, whether they know about Gilda or not.

Noogieland - a special place for kids

Mission of Gilda’s Clubs:

The Mission of Gilda’s Club Twin Cities is to create welcoming communities of free support for everyone living with cancer — men, women, teens and children — along with their families and friends. Our innovative program, which includes Noogieland, is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities.

Noogieland – a special Gilda’s Club program just for kids can change the lives of children and teens who are dealing with cancer – whether it’s the child, a family member or a friend. It’s a place just to be a kid. It’s a place to feel normal in a world where children and teens often feel confused and isolated. While having fun, making a friend with someone who shares that common bond or just feeling less scared, kids are learning how to combine the experience of cancer with their everyday lives.

Under the watchful eyes of licensed professional staff and trained certified volunteers, kids and teens can participate in support groups, interactive play, family time and “Noogiefest” parties and events. Everyone can find fun and support – separately or together – for as long and as often as needed.

The Twin Cities doesn’t have anything like a Gilda’s Club. To learn more about Gilda’s Club coming to the Twin Cities, please explore this website. Help us bring Noogieland to the Twin Cities – to join the effort, to give, to volunteer – click here to learn more.
